Natural design elements rejuvenate this property Design continuity with the Confederation log home was extremely important, and in order for the landscape to become one with the property, everything needed to maintain a natural country feel. The project started in the front, which included the installation of natural rock gardens and stone slabs to accent the large mature spruce trees dominating the yard. The entire project is connected via flagstone patios, walkways and checkerboard patterned patio stone paths Once reaching the backyard, a private oasis comprising garden beds with simple mass plantings, an aquatic space and various covered areas provide the homeowner with everything needed to enjoy year-round relaxation. The focal point is a custom gunite swimming pool, designed and managed by The Great Garden Revival Company. The rectangular pool, located in the northeast corner of the backyard, features a single, concave corner that arcs into the water and adds interest to the pool area by breaking up the linear design to create a more realistic space. A poolside viewing deck was installed above the arc, which plays off the curve in the pool and is accented by low plantings in the front. At the far end of the pool, a large, open post-and-beam cabana was installed to provide a sheltered area for bathers.
