The International Code Council’s (ICC’s) 2012
International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) calls
for a 30 percent increase in building energy savings
as compared to the 2006 code. This represents the
single largest efﬁciency increase in the history of the
model energy code.
For walls, a continuous insulation (ci) system is
featured as a solution in recent model energy codes
because it effectively addresses these challenges. When
it comes to commercial roofs, signiﬁcant savings can
